for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
A note from the Artist: Last August I attended DragonCon with a friend of mine, one “Takkless”, as part of an exhibition for the company we work for, known as Quicksylver Inc. Put the two of us in the same room, and well… creative and competitive madness ensues. First, we came up with the concept for a “drunken heroes” series, the idea being what would happen if you *could* get a super hero completely schnockered? Then, we attended the Artist Trading Card seminar, and immediately started trying to finish more cards for the swap than the other. All in all a productive weekend. So, a few weeks ago Takkless gives me a call about a charity auction happening at Blueline Pro comic supply in Florence, KY. The charity profits in question is to go to breast cancer research, and being a breast cancer survivor, it’s something I’m very fond of supporting. (Save second base!) The items being auctioned off would be art trading cards. Takkless knew that I wouldn’t be able to turn it down. The cards above are a few of the ones being mailed out to the auction. If you happen to be in Florence, KY, on March 8, please go look up the shop and see some of the art that’s being sent in.

Fri, Jan. 25th, 2008, 03:16 pm And we're back!
Thought you'd seen the last of us, did you? Not a chance! Life smacked the artist (me) and the writer (Ben) from all sides for a little while, and the comic had to take a backseat to things like... oh... surviving severe medical issues, layoffs, cars that refuse to stay fixed, and other such nonsense. The fact that it took several months of me yelling at our server host and still not being able to even log in because every password I tried, and had them reset, FTPing to the site simply would not happen. As life slowly gets better for us, it begins with our new domain host also coming on as a writer for the comic. Everyone say hi to Mike (Hi Mike!). We be comics three. The page has been updated, though it's not fully developed, and we're working on getting the old stuff in order. My hope is to have everything up and running, and looking spiffy with new comics starting next week. If you want to reread the old stuff, go to www.deathbydice.com/old for the original site. The new is shiny and simply at www.deathbydice.com -Desz
We're trying a little something new. (Go figure.) This is the first in a series called "No kidding there we were" based on IC stories as they happened. For your viewing pleasure... part 1.
This is likely only going to make sense to Cammies, or folks who play games that have supplements that change everything with each book.
Sun, Mar. 18th, 2007, 11:36 pm Office Imps
Back at long last! With a short side trip into the land of Office Imps. Anyone who works in an office environment will appreciate this. We will return to regularly scheduled comics soon... Mon, Oct. 23rd, 2006, 07:19 am MIA?
Not totally... Sorry folks, Death by Dice has been put aside temporarily due to extreme life conditions. We've come up with plenty of ideas, but the artist has been swamped with projects that precede the comic, as well as a medical emergency a couple weeks ago. We're going to re-start the comic in November, starting with the contest winners and a comic we had promised to put up a good while ago. With luck, we'll also have a special Halloween edition. There will be a couple of donations of prints to the ICC charity auction this coming weekend, as well as an appearance at MarsCon again in January. Sorry about the silence. Sometimes even geeks with no lives get sucked up into the wide world of Real Life. In this case, we've been trying to escape, but it has a pretty good grip.
Tue, Aug. 29th, 2006, 08:29 pm Voting is open!
So hop to it.
Thanks to everyone who submitted. Most of the submissions were terrific, (always with one or two exceptions) and we judged based on two things. One, it had to be funny. Two, it had to be something we could illustrate. A lot of good concepts and even one or two campaign ideas came across, but unfortunately nothing that could be represented with just one drawing. An honourable mention goes to Seraphim777, who made us chuckle a lot. Unfortunately, HR Giger, while entertaining to see his effect on Care Bears, is not actually a cartoon as such, or a game genre, and therefore does not qualify for the finals. Good try though.
Voting is open, you have until Sept 1 midnight to vote! Tue, Aug. 29th, 2006, 08:25 pm
Poll #809830 The Cartoon + Game Genre Vote begins!
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: AllChoose one of the following... Thu, Aug. 24th, 2006, 07:14 am Contest!
OKay guys, we've had a lot of submissions. Tomorrow midnight is the cut-off date, so if you've got any strange cartoon/movie & game genre combos you've been holding out on us with, now's the time. The top three will be chosen and up on a poll on Sunday, for voting. And then you have a week to place your votes. Carry on.
Wed, Aug. 2nd, 2006, 09:47 pm CONTEST!
That's right, we're having a little contest of geekdom and vintage knowledge. After a very silly conversation regarding classic cartoons and gaming genres, and then the two combined. We ended up with Crinos Thunder Cats from the World of Darkness. In fact, we came up with a few gems, but then thought, why keep all the fun to ourselves? So we're asking everyone who reads the comic and would be interested to sumbit an odd combination. 1 cartoon or possibly geek movie + a game system, and only 2 submissions per person. :) Send it to us at deathbydice@gmail.com, or reply here with your submission. On August 25, we'll post the five best we find, and take a poll. Then you, dear readers, get to choose which three take 1st second and 3rd place. The 2nd and third place winners will get their drawn in DbD fashion, in black and white and they get a print, and 1st place gets full color and a print of their very own. (Yes, your name or net nick will appear next to the drawing.) Disclaimers: 1 Poke-thuhlu has been done. It's not a valid submission, because I've done it many times and I'm tired of it! 2 Be prepared to explain the basics and flavour of any system if for some reason neither of us has heard of it. On your Mark... get set... wait for it... GEEK!
